Between 6th and 16th November 2023, TVAS North Midlands conducted an excavation at Registry Street, Stoke-on-Trent where two 19th to 20th century kilns were uncovered. The results of the excavations are now published in the latest volume of the Staffordshire Archaeological and Historical Society Transactions – Daniel, H, 2026, ‘Evaluation and Excavation of two 19th- to 20th-century pottery ovens at the former Registry Street works, Stoke-on-Trent, Staffordshire’, Trans Staffordshire Archaeol Hist Soc 57, 66-84

David Barker has done a further article titled “The Registry Street, or Warrington Pottery – a biography of a small north Staffordshire factory, 1881–1969” (published in The Northern Ceramic Society Journal Vol. 41 (2026)) which details the story of the pottery factory and the companies that ran it. David Barker has kindly allowed us to reproduce the article here for those interested in the Rgistry Street kilns to find out more.
