As part of the planning process, a developer needs to assess the impact the project may have on various topics, including archaeology, and how to minimise these. Before a site goes to excavation a number of assesments were carried out including a desk-based and trial trenching, both of which confirmed the arcaheological potential of the site and thus requiring an excavation.

Final plan of all excavated areas

Bronze Age

The Bronze Age compenent of site consisted of a field system, roundhouse, cremation cemetery and a widespread scattering of pits and postholes.
