TVAS East Midlands: Site Update – Broad Road, Bacton, Suffolk

TVAS East Midlands have recently completed their excavations at Broad Road, Bacton, Suffolk.

The site comprised of three areas each of which yielded a post medieval field system. as well as a roman field system in two of the three areas.

A small roman oven was also found as well as a collection of pits, gullies, postholes and ditches. This suggests the excavation site is on the edge of a small roman farmstead or settlement that exists beyond the boundary of the development.
